Another day, another Joan dress. This time it’s from UK vintage repro company, Glamour Bunny. Named after the siren from Mad Men, the Joan dress features many of her style trademarks – a strong block colour, a super-fitted waist and a knee-length pencil-skirted shape.
I love this dress so much, I also have it in black. It comes in three colours so now I just need the royal blue to complete my collection and be like this girl.
The sculpted bodice on this dress acts like a corset which nips you in at the waist (hurrah!) but pushes your babylons up and out (handy as a chin rest but can incite staring). It would be perfect if it was slightly less boobalicious. One of my favourite things about Joan’s style is that she rarely reveals her own colossal cleavage.
I can’t pin it all on the frock though – the boobs are to blame. They often make me feel like I’m auditioning for a part, sadly not one in Mad Men, more like a role in a Carry On film.
