This stripy sundress is one of my summer favourites. It’s cut generously enough to accommodate my great big bazongas and it includes a matching tie belt so I can still pull my waist in.
The dress is from Tara Starlet, a fabulously named vintage reproduction company. Their style is very forties and fifites. Somehow they manage to be simultaneously more demure and more cutting edge than a lot of other repro brands. Think less cleavage, more florals, but with attitude. I especially love the authenticity of their designs because they look like real vintage treasures.
Sadly, they don’t stock my frock anymore – I bought it many moons ago – but they do have lots of other equally lovely dresses suitable for summertime flouncing. Here are a couple of my faves.
One last thing I love about my dress. It’s very Barbie, circa 1959.
This isn’t the first time I’ve accidentally dressed up as vintage Barbie. Remember this?
But can you blame me for subconsciously wanting to look like the the superdoll of yesteryear? I mean look how fabulous and versatile she is.
I want to be all of these Barbies. Please.
