I’m addicted to retro underwear. Lace-trimmed basques, wanton suspender belts and massive silky bras overflow from my drawers. Give me a great big pair of high-waisted knickers over a teeny tiny thong any day of the week. Retro lingerie is just so much more flattering on a womanly figure and makes you feel so god damn gorgeous. Today I thought I’d put my naughty little shopping habit to good use and share my top 21 websites (yes 21, I said I had a problem!) for vintage style lingerie.
Let’s start with one of the most iconic brands in the world of vintage reproduction lingerie. What Katie Did make incredibly sumptuous, authentic looking undies. As well as stunning sets like the ones pictured, I love their high-waisted knickers, Old Hollywood style loungewear and swimwear and gobsmackingly gorgeous bedroom mules. And let’s not forget their legendary corsets. I’m the proud owner of a steel-boned Morticia Underbust corset and I can confirm that it’s spectacular. WKD stock dress sizes UK8-18 and bra sizes 30B-40F (UK sizing). They have a UK and a USA site and they offer international shipping, so no matter where you are in the world, you can enjoy their sensational smalls.
This is one of my personal favourites for vintage style lingerie. Their bra and suspender sets are sublime – glamorous, retro and incredibly flattering to a womanly figure. Their Retrolution range features heavily in my undie drawers. The waist-cinching knickers are great for subtly enhancing your figure under a wiggle dress and the corset (shown above on the left) makes you feel like a goddess. For everyday wear I love their Superboost bras with matching high-waisted shorts. Designs go up to a G-cup because they are awesome.
I bloody love Ann Summers lingerie. Not so much the peephole bras and crotchless panties. It’s the retro-inspired bras, waspies and suspender sets that make me feel sexy. I also love their affordable price points and inclusive size range – they now go up to a 42H, fantastic news for all you buxom bombshells!
I’m obsessed with this website, which offers pinup girl lingerie, chiffon babydolls with matching robes and sequinned nipple tassels (an absolute must have this season). Their use of colour and fabric is such a perfect combination of sweet and sassy. They stock some amazing brands like Kiss Me Deadly and Playful Promises, but make sure you take a look at their in-house range, Handmade by My Retro Closet.
My favourite find from House of Satin is their colourful range of high-waisted satin knickers. They suck your tummy right in, look so divinely retro and aren’t too expensive. House of Satin also do vintage style bras, offering sizes 30A-44F.
I love the affordable luxury Pour Moi offers. Not all of their designs work on my curvaceous figure but the ones that do are a knockout. I never say no to a basque and they sell loads of amazing vintage inspired ones. Pour Moi are perfect for adding sex appeal to your lingerie collection without a hefty pricetag.
Most of my everyday sets are by Parfait by Affinitas. I love them for accommodating fuller busts, being sturdy and supportive with great shape and somehow still managing to look feminine and beautiful. My favourites are their longline bras, which give a really pretty vintage look and go up to a G-cup (G for Get In!). Parfait by Affinitas are stocked by loads of retailers worldwide – check here for details and you’re welcome, happy shopping!
I love the sensual drama and old school sex appeal of this lingerie line. They use really rich, luxurious colours and bold designs for their undergarments and shapewear. Kiss Me Deadly is ideal for feisty sex kittens and powerful sirens. Ass well as killer vintage style lingerie, they also make stunning swimwear and boudoir attire.
Secrets In Lace underwear combines the most incredibly authentic retro shapes with the cheekiest, sassiest bright colours and feisty animal prints. Just stunning. So much fun, so much sex appeal. AND they do a line of stockings designed by Dita von Teese. Speaking of Dita…
As regular readers know, I love me some Dita. Her lingerie range is predictably stunning. My only bugbear is the sizes. I’m a UK 36G but her larger cup sizes only start with a 38 back. Please fix this Dita and I will buy all your bras as a thank you! I content myself with a drawer full of her intricate high-waisted knickers and my latest discovery, her nightwear collection. Her nightwear is so unspeakably glamorous it makes you feel like an Old Hollywood movie star. It doesn’t just promise to, it actually does. Dita’s range is available from stockists worldwide. You can check here for details.
This is one of the only high street shops I actually shop in! Boux do beautiful high-waisted knickers with matching bras and stock sizes 28A-40G. I also love their little slips and robes for keeping bedtime glamorous.
A firm favourite among vintage style lingerie fans for providing super supportive, shaping foundation garments. Their girdles, longline bras and body shapers give great shape and look like vintage originals.
Fraulein Annie manage to design shapewear that you don’t mind being seen in. It’s just as beautiful and seductive as the rest of their stock. I love the romance of their designs – those classic colour combinations and delicate lace trims – all inspired by 1920s and 30s Berlin. They ooze old fashioned elegance while giving you incredible shape. Fraulein Annie cater for sizes 32A-38G. As a big busted bombshell, I love a lingerie line that makes vintage style bras in my size. The fact that they also make the giant waist-cinching tummy-sucking-in knickers of my dreams (pictured above) makes them an absolute fave.
They do the prettiest prints, great high-waisted knickers and gorgeous longline bras, all with an appropriate sense of playfulness. I’m very excited about their new 28-36″ DD-G Fuller Bust collection, pictured above and modelled by the sensational Gia Genevieve.
Joanna’s Wardrobe is ideal for adding a bit of tongue-in-chic to your underwear collection. Their style is cheeky cheesecake pinup, full of bold retro prints and classic flattering shapes.
This American website is full of eyelash lace, saucy chiffon and luxurious satin. It’s one of the most unique vintage reproduction ranges I’ve found online, managing to combine authentic retro shapes with a really inventive use of colour and fabrics. Sweet, sexy and stylish as hell!
I regularly buy from Sensalle. They stock one of my faves for everyday wear, Parfait by Affinitas, as well as other retro and large cup lingerie brands, most of whom I haven’t seen on other sites. A great selection of longline bras, basques and girdles. Definitely one to check out.
In amongst the kinky clubwear and fancy dress costumes, Leg Avenue have a couple of absolutely jawdropping retro inspired lingerie sets. I love the high-waisted style of their suspender belts and the minxy colour combos.
This fabulous UK website stocks much-loved retro brands like Rago, Playful Promises and Kiss Me Deadly alongside more hard-to-find ones like Nightprowl and Elila. They have a truly gorgeous selection. The Elila lace longline bra in particular is at the top of my lingerie lust list because it looks like a true vintage original AND goes up to a 36H!
Agent Provocateur are pretty much out of my price range but that doesn’t stop me spending hours on their website stalking them like an obsessive ex-lover. Thankfully, their diffusion line, L’Agent, offers similarly sex kitten designs at a more affordable price point.
I fell madly in love with Fifi Chachnil during my birthday trip to Paris. Since then they have held a special place in my heart and knicker drawer. Their particular brand of Parisian vintage style luxury is simply irresistable. I left the store with armfuls of high-waisted suspender briefs, including these Lola ones in the picture. They also do stunning vintage style slips, decadent robes and adorable clothing. Fifi Chachnil, je t’aime!
And there you have it – my top 21! Who have I forgotten/not discovered yet? I love finding new vintage style lingerie to lust after so please let me know of any other retro undie websites I’ve missed!
