I’m a crazy belt lady.
My wardrobe honestly couldn’t run without my enormous collection of belts. The right belt defines your waist and your sense of style. It makes almost any dress shape look instantly more pinup and accentuates that all-important hourglass silhouettes, while adding flair to your outfit.
Loads of reproduction vintage dresses come with a coordinating belt included. These really help to beef up your belt wardrobe. They give you a rainbow of cinching options, which can be mixed and matched to go with all your different outfits.
Then there are the belts you buy on their own. Thankfully, many of my favourites come in multiple colour ways to feed my ever-intensifying belt addiction. When you find a style you love, you can bulk buy and ensure you always have the perfect finishing touch to your ensemble at hand.
Here are the four pinup belts I couldn’t get dressed without.
The bow belt by Banned suits a whole range of body shapes and sizes because it’s elasticated. I love the post box red and the shiny, eye-catching patent. Red is a great colour choice when you’re buying accessories because you can always match it to your lipstick.
The bow belt by Tatyana is so teeny and cutesy, I adore it! It also has an ingenious hidden fastening system, which means you never have to worry about excess belt flapping about and destroying your immaculate sophistication.
The elastic bow belt from Lindy Bop is an essential part of my getting-dressed kit. It’s neat, pretty, comes in loads of colours and pulls an outfit together perfectly. I’m currently eyeing this bad boy up in leopard print.
I became obsessed with Aussie pinup brand Wheels & Dollbaby when I lived just a ten minute walk away from their flagship store in Sydney. Their velvet belts, available in slim and wide versions, are so classy and glamorous. They’re also exceptionally high quality and cinch your waist like you’re Elizabeth Taylor.
And what about you, dollface? Do you have any belts your pinup wardrobe just couldn’t function without? Xx
