As I type this I am draped in a leopard print pashmina. Before I left the house this morning I grabbed one of my several leopard print handbags and pulled on a coat with a faux fur leopard print collar. Leopard print is my neutral, my go-to, my constant companion. It’s sexy and gutsy and gorgeous. But there’s something particularly fabulous about a leopard print dress. When I’m wearing one, I feel va-va-voom like Jayne Mansfield or Bettie Page. Here are 12 of my favourites.
Can we just talk about this dress? This fabulously outrageous dress combines a classic 1950s hourglass shape with a feisty, fearless 80s animal print. My god, it’s gorgeous. Wild, strong and sexy as hell. When I grow up I want to be the woman who can pull off this dress.
A fantastically simple but effective leopard print dress. This is an instant wardrobe classic. I love the wide neckline and the subtle lines of darker leopard print that act like streamlining panels. Flattering and foxy. I mean leopardy.
The leopard print Dolores is a staple in my everyday wardrobe. I wear it with different coloured cropped cardigans and coordinating flowers in my hair to create multiple no-thought-required outfits. I couldn’t live without mine and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Pinup Girl Clothing’s Erin is such a sassy dress with its low cut cleavage and figure-hugging fit. Perfect on its own for maximum sex appeal or under a cropped cardigan for a more demure bombshell outfit.
This off-the-shoulder number is fab, especially cinched in with a bright belt like the model wears. It’s a little bit rock and roll. A dress to get wild in.
Wiggle dresses with longer length sleeves are perfect for cold weather and for flattering a curvy figure. This Voodoo Vixen beauty has such a gorgeous pencil shape. Love the sweetheart neckline.
Come to mama! The stretchy, comfortable fabric means this animal print number could easily be worn for everyday glamour.
How sexy is this dress?? The mermaid kick at the knee and the contrasting halterneck straps make it so flirty and summery. Accessorise with a pout and a cocktail.
Vivien of Holloway make some of the most stunning and authentic-looking vintage reproduction dresses out there and this is no exception. I love the matching bolero.
Another gorgeous authentic looking repro from those geniuses at Vivien of Holloway.
I am a huge fan of Katya Wildman’s eternally flattering bombshell dresses, especially the ones with longer sleeves. The leopard version is the perfect balance of sophisticated and saucepot.
I have this dress in black and it’s cleavage central in the best way possible. Jaw-droppingly, heart-stoppingly seductive, now with added leopard print.
And for a final nugget of inspiration, here’s Jayne wearing the hell out of her leopard print gown. Go get ’em, girls.
